This is the final painting for my Otep tribute to the band which has given me such inspiration, strength and chiseled me into the human being I am to this day. I wouldn't have grown a tough exterior and survived through my shittier years if it wasn't for this band. I am so in debt, and this is my way of returning the favour by working on these six paintings. Each a song from all of their albums. Each song listened to over and over and over until I felt what was on paper mirrored what I felt from listening to it.

My Confession has always been my favorite Otep song. The lyrics hit me in the feels like no other song can. I can relate to each piece of it so strongly that it often creeps the fuck out of me. Which is why I knew this one would be last because it had to be the final SHA-BANG to end it all right. I spent many many days on this and I'm pretty proud of it. Not only did I work super hard on this piece, but I incorperated my own blood in this. Every bit of blood in this painting (from the splatters to the drips on the rocks) was painted with my own blood. Now that's special.

I'm planning on maybe making a painting for Hydra but no promises right now. I might need to take a break from Otep and get out a couple pieces I've been wanting to do for a while. This series certainly had to come first though
